Stefano Arienti
Editorial Reviews
Book Description
The darc (Direction General for architecture and contemporary art) and the maxxi (National Museum of the XXI-century Arts) of Rome with the Sandretto Re Rebaudengo Foundation of Turin present an exhibition dedicated to Stefano Arienti (Asola, Mantua, 1961), curated by Anna Mattirolo.
The exhibition proposes an honest and real vision of Arienti's œuvre, from his first works in 1986 to the latest examples, several of which were expressly made for the show. Fifty-nine or so works are presented in a layout designed by Corrado Levi to instil in the public the empathy of being admitted to the artist's world. The works, selected among the most recurring typologies, provide a clear view of Arienti's evolution and aesthetics.
Active for the past twenty years and one of the most well-known contemporary Italian artists, he is a point of reference for the latest generation of artists, as well as a firm link with the preceding generation.
The catalog, in a bilingual Italian-English edition, contains numerous essays and features the catalogue of the works on exhibit and substantial iconographic and documentary appendices.
Text in English and Italian.
