About the Author
PETER LONDON is a professor of art education at the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth. He earned his MFA in painting from Columbia University in 1962 and his EdD in art education from the Teachers College in 1968. He has published many articles in art and art education journals and is the author of No More Secondhand Art: Awakening the Artist Within Shambhala Press, 1989). Observing children in the classroom, as well as his son, Jonathan, and his daughter, Danielle, convinced him to cast his lot always on the side of children and their right to explore the full range of possiblity. His wife, Marion (a psychologist), shares his convictions, and together they explore ways of fulfilling their own and others' creative potential. When not in his studio or classroom he is often gardening, sometimes fishing, and always looking. Visit Peter's website at http://www.peterlondon.us
