Book Description
Hubert de Givenchy's style is a magical alchemy of background, training, friends, travels around the world, visits to museums, and most important, his collections of painting, furniture, and decorative arts. This fascinating book, created in close collaboration with the designer of the rich and famous, explores the sources of inspiration of a brilliant artist who created a look that was the very essence of Paris chic.
Filled with the fragility of Audrey Hepburn and the frivolity of the Duchess of Windsor, the book visits Givenchy's chateau outside Paris, his seaside house in Cap Ferrat, and his magnificent townhouse on Paris' venerable Rue de Grenelle. It follows Givenchy to his office, his atelier, and his fittings, while personal albums and never-before-published pictures illustrate how a very private life has influenced the way the whole world looks and dresses.
