The decade was a time of revolution, with changes occurring across a broad cultural and political spectrum as the generation that was born in the postwar baby boom passed through their teens and early twenties in an era of unprecedented prosperity and unprecedented social upheaval. It was in this time of change that Mary Quant created the first miniskirt, which was the most important fashion revolution of the decade.
