If you're new to black-and-white comic art, this is a good book to find out which mainstream cartoonists tickle your funny bones and which don't. But be forewarned: despite the title, these are by no means the 100 best comics of the century (and, by most people's definitions, they're not even comics, but magazine and newspaper cartoons). Nonetheless, it's worth getting as a sampler for further exploration.
