Book Description
With all the recent metrosexual mania and hipster hype, an important species of American male has, sadly, been overlooked: The Badass. The Badass is an American original, like Lucky Strikes or muscle cars. From Lee Marvin to Vin Diesel, the Badass is the epitome of the American male. Badasses radiate confidence in everything they do, whether it's dealing with women, ordering a drink, or buying a set of wheels.
Now, a new book has appeared, poised to take its place as the new handbook for the modern man: The Badass Bible: An Essential Guide for Men. Part how-to, part history, and all man, The Badass Bible is an must-have for badasses, aspiring badasses, and the women who love them.
With advice on everything from choosing a dive bar ("Walking into a dive bar can be like walking into the mess hall at San Quentin...") to finding a badass job (for example: Bounty Hunter, Repo Man, Test Pilot, Bull Rider, Alligator Wrestler), author S.K. Smith shows men how to get back to their undiluted origins.
The Badass Bible includes such advice as:
• Badass Hygiene: "Commandment 5: Thou shalt never use the stubble head on an electric razor."
• Badass Booze: "Badasses take their liquor straight, like the Good Lord Johnny Walker intended it."
• Badass Style: "The typical Badass leather jacket is made of black leather softened with age. It does double duty as pillow, brawl-aid (toss it over opponent's head, then wallop), water container, wound dressing, and impromptu wedding gift."
• Badass Sex: "Pamela Anderson: A Badass goddess. Ignore the fact that she's Canadian."
• Badass Sports: "Football is the badass sport extraordinaire. It's a latter day version of gladiatorial conflict...It's also a great excuse for a tailgate party."
The Badass Bible is a field guide to the wild, the untamed, the defiant Badass. Chapter by chapter, page by page, it fills you in on the essentials of what it takes to be a badass-the badass way to walk, the badass way to talk, What to wear. What to eat. What to drive. A true badass has a timeless style, an eternal aura, an attitude of confidence and cool that's instantly recognizable.
They're still among us, badasses, men of every size, color, nationality, and religion. You see them in bars, at the track, picking up their kids from school. That deadly calm, that unerring self-assurance. Now that's badass!
